Agartala, 27th March 2026: A 28-year-old man identified as Sushanta Dey was found dead at his residence in the Gorkhabasti area here this morning in a suspected case of suicide. The incident came to light around 7 AM after family members informed the NCC Police Station, who reached the spot and initiated an investigation.
According to a written statement by his father, Sujit Dey, Sushanta had gone to sleep in his room between 10 PM and 11 PM the previous night. He was reportedly employed at the Tripura High Court and had been married for around two months. A note, believed to have been written by Sushanta and addressed to his family members, was also recovered, police sources said.
Officers stated that they are examining personal and family circumstances surrounding the incident, but the exact reasons behind the suspected suicide are yet to be ascertained. No allegations of foul play have been made by the family so far, and the NCC Police had begun the necessary legal formalities as part of their inquiry.
