Agartala, 7th August 2025: A wave of shock gripped the Dinkobara area under Champahaor police station in Khowai this afternoon after the body of a youth was found near the riverbank. Preliminary investigations by police suggest the victim may have been murdered.
Local sources informed that the residents spotted the body early this morning and immediately alerted authorities. The deceased has been identified as Narayan Debnath, 42, a resident of Mahadev Tilla under Khowai police station. He was reportedly seen alive yesterday.
Police recovered the body and shifted it to Khowai District Hospital for post-mortem examination. A forensic team also rushed to the scene upon receiving the report and has begun collecting evidence.
While the exact cause of death remains unconfirmed, police suspect foul play and have launched a formal investigation into the incident.
