Amarnath Yatra: Fresh batch of 2050 pilgrims leave from Jammu base camp

A fresh batch of 2050 pilgrims, amidst the chants of ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ left Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp here on Saturday for Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine in the South Kashmir Himalayas.

An official said 2050 pilgrims left the base camp in a convoy of 87 vehicles.

A group of 1442 pilgrims (162 males, 216 females, one child, 54 Sadhus, and nine Sadhvis) left for Pahalgam in a convoy of 59 vehicles.

For Baltal, 608 pilgrims, comprising 456 males, 141 females, and 11 children, left in a convoy of 28 vehicles amid tight security arrangements.

The yatra, which started on July 1 will conclude on August 31.
