In response to the call given by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), a state bandh is being observed in Andhra Pradesh on Monday.
The TDP called for a state bandh to protect the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu.
Film star turned politician Pawan Kalyan led the Jana Sena party, and all Left parties extended support to the bandh, while the BJP did not announce support for the bandh call.
All commercial establishments remained closed, while some educational institutions declared a holiday on Monday. The APSRTC buses were off the roads at many places initially, but later they started operating. The bandh was partial and peaceful. No untoward incident took place anywhere in the state, police officials said.
Meanwhile, the police either house-arrested or detained almost all the TDP leaders across the state. TDP cadres were seen moving on the roads holding party flags and raising slogans to enforce the bandh.
