Bihar: 5 meet with watery grave after vehicle plunges into canal

Date:

At least five people met their watery grave when the car they were travelling in fell into the Sone canal near Chaman Bigha under the Daudnagar police station area here on Tuesday.

According to the police, due to the high speed, the driver of the vehicle lost control over the steering, following which the car plunged into the canal.

Five people, including three Kawariyas, were trapped in a car from Patna, which couldn’t exit and ended up in a watery grave.

Five bodies have been retrieved, and their identities are being verified. Four of the deceased were aged 35-40, while the other was 16 years old.

The police said that, prima facie, it appears that four deceased people were residents of Rajiv Nagar, Patna, and the driver of the vehicle belonged to Ara.
