Cong govt will fall before or after LS polls: Eshwarappa

Date:

Senior BJP leader and former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa has made a massive claim by saying that the Congress government in Karnataka will either fall before or after 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

“The Congress party is making big news in the state. They are saying that half of the BJP MLAs will come to their party, but not a single BJP MLA has gone to Congress. Look at the Congress situation. I am telling you, the Congress government would not last in Karnataka before or after the Parliamentary elections,” he told reporters here.

These comments come in the wake of the Congress government criticising the BJP and its policies of the central government.

Reacting to Eshwarappa’s claims, Karnataka Congress spokesperson Ramesh Babu said this is BJP’s conspiracy, and in the last nine years of its rule at the centre, the saffron party has bought 450 MLAs of other parties.

“This is a statement which has been made by the BJP leaders several times. In Karnataka, they have moved a public interest litigation in the name of XYZ claiming that the guarantees given by the Congress party are not according to the provisions of law. They are making some kind of conspiracy against the Congress party,” he said.

“The BJP wants to utilise the judiciary for their hidden agenda. In the nine years of rule at the centre, they have bought more than 450 MLAs of other parties,” he alleged.

However, the Congress party has faith in democracy and will fight against BJP’s conspiracies, Babu said.

“Congress party is not going to make such a statement. We have faith in democracy. We believe in our MLAs. We believe in our ideology, so definitely the Congress party is going to fight against BJP,” he said.
