Senior Congress leader and former Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala condoled the demise of Aryadan Muhammed on Sunday.
In a message, Chennithala said Aryadan Muhammad who played a pivotal role in the growth of the organisation was a strong leader of Congress party in Malabar.
As an experienced administrator, he was distinguished by his firm loyalty to the Congress party. Hiis demise is a great loss to the Congress and the general public, he added.
Senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy said Aryadan Muhammed was a tallest leader in Malabar with secular credentials.
He was an excellent administrator, politician and trade union leader, the former Chief Minister said.
In 2004, when he was the power minister in the UDF cabinet, his work in bringing electricity to the hilly areas and tribal colonies was notable, Chandy said.
Senior Congress leader AK Antony, AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal, KPCC President K Sudhakarab, Opposition leader VD Satheesan, VM Sudheeran also condoled the demise of the senior leader.
The funeral function of the departed leader will take place at Mukkatta Valiya Juma Masjid at Nilambur at 9 am on Monday.
