Congress on Friday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Manipur situation saying the latter has taken a vow of “total and complete” silence on the Northeastern state.
“Prime Minister dialled Home Minister (Amit Shah) from Paris to inquire about the flood situation in New Delhi. It is good that he showed such concern. Why was no such call made when he was away in the US and Manipur was burning?,” said Congress general secretary in-charge Communications Jairam Ramesh.
He added, “Manipur is still burning while the Prime Minister is in France. But looks like he’s taken a vow of total and complete silence on Manipur.”
The Congress has been blaming the BJP-led government for the current crisis in Manipur. The grand old party demanded dismissal of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
