Counting begins for Bihar Assembly polls

Counting began at 8 a.m. in four assembly seats of Bihar, where polling for by-elections was held on November 13.

Sources of the office of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) said here that counting began at 8 am in four assembly seats.

Seats where counting is in progress are Tarari, Ramgarh, Belaganj, and Imamganj. Polling was held on November 13.

The main contest is between the NDA and Grand Alliance in all four seats, but new entrant Jan Suraaj of Prashant Kishor has made it interesting. Ajit Singh, son of Bihar RJD president Jagadanand Singh, is contesting on RJD ticket from Ramgarh, while the BJP has fielded Ashok Singh from this seat. Sushil Singh Kushwaha is also trying luck from the seat.

In Tarari, Vishal Prashant, son of former MLA Sunil Pandey, has been fielded by the BJP, while CPI (ML) has fielded Raju Yadav. Jan Suraaj has fielded Kiran Singh from this seat.

In Belaganj, JD(U) has fielded Manorama Devi, RJD has fielded Vishwanath Singh, while Jan Suraaj has fielded Mohammad Amzad.

Similarly, in Imamganj, Deepa Manjhi of HAM, Roshan Manjhi of RJD and Jeetendra Paswan of Jan Suraaj are contesting.

Of four seats, three are held by Grand Alliance, one is held by NDA.
