Jarken Gamlin takes oath as CIC of Arunachal Information Commission

Major General (Retd) Jarken Gamlin was on Monday sworn in as the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of the Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission (APIC).

He was administered the oath of office by Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik in a brief but impressive ceremony at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan here in the presence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and other dignitaries.

The position of the State Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) was lying vacant following the retirement of former CIC Rinchen Dorjee on August 12 last.

The newly appointed CIC shall hold office for three years from the date of his entering upon the office or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier,

Among others, Home Minister Mama Natung, Women and Child Development Minister Dasanglu Pul, Speaker Tesam Pongte, Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor, several MLAs, and senior State Government officers attended the swearing-in ceremony.
