Kerala Assembly session begins today

The 7th session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly will begin from Monday.

The House, which will assemble nine days from December 5 to 8 and December 12 to 15, is expected to be turbulent as the CPI(M)-led Left Government will introduce the Bill seeking to remove Governor as the Chancellor of Universities in Kerala.

The first eight days have been set aside for state Government business while the last day will discuss private members’ business.

Opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) is expected to raise several issues including the ongoing protest against Vizhinjam port, the rising number of crimes and use of drugs, the tussle between the Governor and the Left Government, the backdoor appointment in Government and various Corporations, the controversial gold smuggling case, the involvement of BJP leaders in black money smuggling case.
