An abandoned bag in Kolkata’s R G Kar Hospital on Thursday created panic among patients and agitating medics, who have been in protest since August 9 when a lady medic was raped and murdered on the premises, official sources said.
A bomb squad was called in by the Central Industrial Security Force who also cordoned off the area.
The bag was noticed on a makeshift stage on the hospital’s campus.
It was placed beside the victim’s portrait which has been kept there for citizens to offer tributes, sources said.
