Sunday resigned as West Bengal Governor after being named the ruling NDA’s vice-presidential
candidate a day back.
Dhankhar functioned as West Bengal governor for close to three years in since July 30, 2019.
” The President of India has accepted the resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar as Governor of West Bengal. The President of India has been pleased to appoint La Ganesan, Governor of Manipur to discharge the functions of the Governor of West Bengal, in addition to his own duties from the date he assumes charge of the office of the Governor of West Bengal, until regular arrangements are
made,” according to a Rashtrapati Bhavan notification.
“Congratulations to Shri La. Ganesan ji, Governor of Manipur, for taking the Additional Charge as Governor of West Bengal,” Nandigram MLA and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari tweeted early on Monday.
“As the Leader of Opposition, I heartily welcome you Sir ( La Ganesan) & would like to assure you of my full cooperation,” Adhikari maintained.
