The Lok Sabha on Monday paid rich tributes to MP Girish Bapat and former parliamentarian Innocent, who passed away recently.
As soon as the House assembled for the day, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla mentioned about the death of Bapat and Innocent, and expressed deep grief over their demise.
The Speaker adjourned the House till 1400 hours as a mark of respect to the departed souls, after the members observed silence.
Bapat, who represented Maharashtra’s Pune parliamentary seat, passed away at the age of 74 on March 29.
Innocent, the former MP from Kerala’s Chalakkudy died on March 26. He was 75.
