NDRF team rescues 8-yr-old girl from quake rubble in Turkiye

Date:

The NDRF team in coordination with the Turkish Army has successfully rescued an eight-year-old girl from Gaziantep in quake-hit Turkiye, it said in a tweet.

The NDRF said:

“Hard work & motivation pays.

“NDRF team in co-ordination with Turkish Army successfully rescued another live victim (Girl aged 8Yrs) @ 1545hrs at Loc:Bahceli Evler Mahallesi, Nurdagi, Gaziantep, Turkiye.”

Earlier, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team in Turkiye had rescued a six-year-old girl in Gaziantep city from under the rubble of damaged buildings.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a tweet said on Friday:

“Proud of our NDRF.

“In the rescue operations in Türkiye, Team IND-11 saved the life of a six-year-old girl, Beren, in Gaziantep city.”

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Indian teams of NDRF personnel and doctors involved in rescue and relief operations in quake-hit Turkiye are working day and night as part of ‘Operation Dost’.

The Prime Minister said that India stands firmly with the people of Turkiye, where a 7.8-Richter temblor on Monday has led to around 20,000 deaths and devastated cities.

His comments came as the Indian Army’s 30-bedded field hospital in Iskenderun has treated over 100 people in the Turkish city that has been hard hit in the earthquake.

“Our teams are working day and night as a part of ‘Operation Dost.’ They will keep giving their best to ensure maximum lives and property are saved. In this critical time, India stands firmly with the people of Türkiye,” the PM said in a tweet.
