Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his Punya Tithi.
“I pay homage to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji on his Punya Tithi. We will never forget his efforts for national progress and serving the poor. Inspired by his vision, we are working round the clock to ensure the fruits of development reach the marginalised and the downtrodden,” he tweeted.
Pandit Deendayal was BJP leader from 1953 to 1968. He was a colossal source of ideological guidance and moral inspiration for the BJP since its inception.
His treatise Integral Humanism, which is a critique of both communism and capitalism, provides a holistic alternative perspective for political action and statecraft consistent with the laws of Creation and the universal needs of the human race.
Pandit Deendayal convened on September 21, 1951, a political convention of UP and founded the state unit of the new party, Bharatiya Jana Sangh. His organising skills were unmatched. He breathed his last on 11 February 1968.
