President Droupadi Murmu arrived here on board a special military plane on Tuesday thereby commencing a two-day visit of Madhya Pradesh – her maiden tour of the state subsequent to assuming the presidential mantle.
The First Citizen was received by Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union ministers and top bureaucrats. After the formal welcome at the Airport, the Supreme Commander departed at about 1240 hrs by an Army helicopter for Shahdol. She was accompanied by the Governor, the Chief Minister and Union ministers.
Mrs Murmu is scheduled to grace the state-level Tribal Pride Day programme marking the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda. The function is to commence at 1400 hrs.
