Chief Minister P S Tamang on Wednesday extended warm greetings to the people of Sikkim, especially the Bhutia and Lepcha communities, during the Losoong and Namsoong festivals.
‘ These festivals strengthen the bond of love and brotherhood in Sikkim. The celebrations mark the end of the harvest season and the Sikkimese New Year, symbolizing the attachment to Mother Nature and the agricultural New Year, ‘ said CM.
Tamang prays to guardian deities for the state’s resilience, wishing good health, happiness, fortune, and love to the people and urging them to uphold goodwill, harmony, and peace.
The state government will observe holidays from December 13 to 19 for the Bhutia-Lepcha festivals as the festivities commence.
