Bihar assembly Speaker Nand Kishor Yadav directed the Land Reforms and Revenue Minister Sanjay Saraogi to understand the technicalities of the issues related to various types of land from the experts and find solution to the problems.
Intervening in the reply of the Minister to a question of Ajay Kumar Singh during the pre-lunch sitting on Thursday, the Speaker said that he too did not understand the issues regarding types of lands and asked the Minister to understand all issues from the experts in the presence of the member Ajay Kumar Singh.
Raising the issues related to various types of lands including Bakast and Khevat and the papers related to them as well as the problems being faced by the people, Singh said that from the reply made by the Minister, it is clear that the Minister himself was also not understanding these issues and its technicalities including revenue collection through such lands.
To this, the Speaker directed the Minister to understand the issues in detail from the experts.
Another member Vijay Kumar Singh, through his supplementary, said that the revenue should be collected both online and offline as all of the Jamabandi (computerisation of land details) of lands have not been made online. He further tried to draw the attention of the Minister toward the nonavailability of the employees responsible for collecting the revenues at their specific places.
The Minister said that appointments were being made for the department and the existing employees responsible for collecting the land revenues have been directed to remain present at their specific places in Panchayat. He said that the government was also writing to the district magistrates to ensure the presence of the employees at their specific places.
