An earthquake of mild intensity jolted Kashmir valley on Tuesday, officials said.
The magnitude of the earthquake was measured on the Richter scale 5.4 with the epicenter at latitude 33.15 in the north and longitude 75.82 in the east.
The tremors were felt in Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir valley for a few seconds.
The tremors were felt at 1.33 pm with the 6km depth northeast of Doda in Jammu and Kashmir.
People at some places came out of their houses in panic for safety.
There was no report of loss of life or damage to property.
