Agartala, 12th September 2024: On August 27, Ashwini Netralaya, based at Bijay Kumar Choumuhani, conducted a complimentary eye examination for 40 patients residing at Apnaghar Old Age Home in Barajala. During the examination, 15 patients were identified as needing eye surgery.

In a remarkable display of humanitarian service, Ashwini Netralaya arranged for the eye surgeries to be performed entirely free of charge on September 6. The surgeries were carried out by a team of esteemed doctors, including Dr. Subhankar Debnath, Dr. Subrata Sahan, and Dr.  Vishnu Debraj. The operational support was provided by Bijay Tripura and Priya Acharya.

This initiative was organized solely by Ashwini Netralaya, without the aid of any government scheme. The patients, who would otherwise have faced significant financial barriers, did not incur any costs for their surgeries. This effort underscores Ashwini Netralaya’s commitment to community service and sets a notable example of compassionate care.
