Agartala, 17th May 2026: Bharatiya Janata Party workers and supporters erupted in celebration at 36 Shantirbazar Mandal on Sunday following the party’s massive victory in the assembly elections of three states.
The victory rally, organised by the Santirbazar BJP Mandal, began in front of the party’s mandal office and passed through different parts of the town amid festive enthusiasm. Supporters were seen beating drums, throwing coloured powder, and bursting firecrackers during the procession.
The entire area echoed with slogans such as “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Narendra Modi Zindabad” as party workers celebrated the electoral triumph. The rally finally culminated at the Shantirbazar motor stand, where supporters continued the celebrations with great enthusiasm.
Several BJP leaders joined the procession, including Mandal President Debashis Bhowmik, South District Kisan Morcha President Satyabrata Saha, Mandal General Secretary Bikash Sen, Kisan Morcha Mandal President Dibyendu Chowdhury, Janajati Morcha State Committee Media In-charge Rabindra Reang, and former Yuva Morcha Mandal President Anili Reang, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Mandal President Debashis Bhowmik said that the victory in the three states reflects the success of development-oriented politics under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the trust reposed by the people in the BJP.
He further stated that the celebrations should not end with the victory procession alone and urged party workers to start preparing from now for the 2028 Tripura Assembly elections by strengthening the organisation at every booth and household level.
Bhowmik also noted that the enthusiasm shown by party workers and supporters during the rally was remarkable and encouraging.
