5.6-magnitude quake hits Izu Islands, Japan region

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 jolted Izu Islands, Japan region at 0549 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 30.13 degrees north latitude and 140.02 degrees east longitude.
