Before election Bangladesh Govt’s communication with India will increase: Leaders

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to India in September. But before that, a political delegation of Awami League led by Obaidul Quader is scheduled to visit India in mid-July.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the G20 summit in India as an invited guest. 9 non-member countries including Bangladesh have been invited as observers in this conference.

Sheikh Hasina will address the conference. According to diplomatic sources in Dhaka, he will have a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at that time. Although this meeting is on the side line, both countries are giving importance to the meeting.

However, the Awami League party which is going to India at the invitation of BJP in the middle of July, apart from Obaidul Quader, Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzak, Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud and other senior leaders are staying. Awami League information and research secretary and member of the international affairs committee. Salim Mahmud said, “They are going there as invited guests. We consider this visit very important politically. His visit has regional and international importance.”

Talking to some leaders of Awami League, it is known that Bangladesh government will increase its communication with India before the election. It is both at the government and party level. The political team that is going in July will talk to and hold meetings with various levels of BJP leaders apart from the Government of India. The main target is to increase the relationship of trust. Increasing the relationship with the team.

G-20 is basically a strategic multilateral alliance of the world’s major economies. Bangladesh has been invited as a guest at the summit of this organization of 20 countries in New Delhi, India, on September 9 and 10. India is serving as its president. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited 9 countries including Bangladesh as guests in this conference.

Former Ambassador Major General (retd) Shahidul Haque said, “This visit is very important for the Prime Minister before the elections. Not only Modi, he will probably talk to the heads of government of many other developed countries in this conference.

Dr. Salim Mahmud said, “Our relationship with India is very good. It has been for a long time. Our engagement with India is increasing in many ways at this time. It will increase before the elections. It is important to invite senior leaders who are going to India for a two-day visit in mid-July. . We attach great importance to it. It has political importance.”

A few leaders of Awami League said that communication with India will be increased in two stages before the elections. They want to get closer to the Indian government at this time.
