The Czech Republic will supply at least 1.5 million artillery shells to Ukraine in 2025, Prime Minister Petr Fiala said.
“As part of the Czech ammunition initiative, the Czech Republic will supply Ukraine with at least, I emphasize, at least no fewer artillery shells than in 2024, that is, 1.5 million shells,” Fiala told Czech Television on Thursday.
In February 2024, the Czech Republic launched an initiative to procure ammunition outside the European Union for Ukraine. Prague is acting as an intermediary, while a number of Western European countries are financing the initiative. Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky said that a total of 18 countries are participating in the initiative.
