Farooq-e-Azam on Tuesday took the oath of office as an adviser to the interim Bangladesh government led by Prof Muhammad Yunus, media reports said.
Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar and Supradeep Chakma also took oaths of office as advisers to the interim government, reports said.
President Md Shahabuddin administered the oaths at the Bangabhaban around 11 am, the Dhaka Tribune reported.
Farooq-e-Azam, a naval commando and freedom fighter awarded the Bir Pratik, assumed his new role after returning from the US on Sunday night.
