Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has discussed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the palace in the city of Lusail international efforts to end the Ukraine conflict, the emir’s office said on the website.
Zelenskyy said on Wednesday on X that he arrived in Qatar to hold negotiations with the Qatari emir.
“The conversation touched upon recent developments around Ukraine, especially the efforts of the international community to stop the hostilities, protect the civilian population and keep open all channels of communication to resolve the crisis through dialog and diplomatic means,” the office said on Wednesday.
Al Thani and Zelenskyy also discussed “the development of bilateral cooperation” during the meeting, the statement read.
