The U.S Vice President Kamala Harris pledged that she is not going to remain silent on the Gaza suffering amid the Israel Hamas war. Harris expressed her serious concern to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday and told him it is the appropriate time to lock down the official ceasefire deal.
Kamala Harris expected Democratic Party Presidential candidate, during her press briefing following her meeting with Netanyahu told reporters,’ Israel has a right to defend itself and how it does so matters. What happened in Gaza in past nine months is devastating “.
She further added, “the images of dead children and desperate hungry people fleeing for safety ,sometimes displaced for the second, third or fourth time. We cannot look away in the face of these tragedies. We cannot allow ourselves to become numb to the suffering and I will not be silent”.
Her remarks elucidated her stance on the conflict, she firmly want to resolve the issue that has split the nation and sparked the tensions in the democratic party. while reverberating the Biden’s ‘unshakebale support’ and ‘steadfast commitment’ to Israel. Harris expressed a resolute determination to bring an end to war.
CNN, quoted that Kamala Harris, is “hopeful'” after the recent talks with the Israeli PM where she firmly pressed Netanyahu to bring an end to the conflict.”As I just told the Prime Minister Netanyahu, it is time to get this deal done” she commented. “So to everyone who has been calling for a ceasefire, and to everyone yearns for peace, I see you and I hear you” she added.
The Biden administration, is actively engaged in bringing back American hostages held in Gaza. Having met the affected families personally, Harris named the hostages publicly. In a significant declaration towards the end of her statement Harris emphasized to the press, “it is important for the American People to remember, the war in Gaza is not a binary issue.”
