Agartala, 19th July 2025: A team from the TRESP State Unit visited Gandacherra subdivision on July 17–18 to closely monitor field activities under the World Bank-supported project. The team led by Sonali Laskar (Social Inclusion Specialist), Subrata Shib (Agriculture Specialist), Dr. Shibaprasad Majumdar (TSA Expert), and Abdur Rahman Choudhury (Training Specialist, SIPARD), visited Producer Groups (PGs) across Dumburnagar and Raishyabari blocks.
Highlights included visits to ginger and turmeric cultivation groups, with active participation from Chakma women, and a piggery PG at Uttar Gandacherra. The groups have received over ₹18 lakh in working capital, showing promising results.
Key concerns raised by PGs such as vaccination and training were addressed during meetings attended by ARDD officials, who assured necessary support. The visit boosted motivation among beneficiaries and reinforced TRESP’s commitment to grassroots development.
