60 lakh voters deleted from Bihar electoral rolls, alleges ex-Raj CM Gehlot

Date:

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that the Congress and its INDI allies intend to convey a strong message against the “unprecedented” “theft of votes (Vote Chori)”.
“What is happening in the country is a serious development, this is a threat to democracy. For instance in Bihar 60 lakh voters have so far been deleted from the revised electoral rolls and not even a single name added,” the senior Congress leader alleged.
The Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has submitted the relevant “vote chori” data, however, the Election Commission of India (ECI) was still demanding an affidavit from him, Gehlot said.
This never happened in the past, that is why the Congress president Malikarjun Kharge, LoP Gandhi, Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav and other prominent leaders had held a demonstration in New Delhi against this “vote chori”.
“As part of this stir, today we in the Congress are holding protest march and demonstration at the Shaheed Memorial here to press our demand against this ‘vote chori’,” he said.
Later, the three-time ex-CM participated in the march from the PCC headquarters here to the demonstration venue at the Shaheed Memorial.
Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan State assembly Tika Ram Jully, AICC General and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, Party state president Govind Singh Dotasra and several MPs, MLAs and other prominent leaders also participated in the protest march.
At the venue of dharna and demonstration LoP Rajasthan Jully and party state president Dotasra sought the people’s support in the fight being waged by Rahul Gandhi.
They said the Congress leader had raised his voice over the issue with evidences. “It is the common man’s fight as his or her rights are being stolen,” they said.
“The theft of vote, is the theft of right; the theft of identity,” they said, exhorting people to join in Gandhi’s fight for defending one’s identity, defending one’s right to vote.
