Agartala, 13th August 2025:   A controversy has erupted in Khowai district after a photo surfaced showing a local political worker holding the national flag upside down during a ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign event. The incident took place at Booth No. 12 under Ramchandraghat Mandal, where tricolours were being distributed as part of the nationwide patriotic initiative.

Despite the presence of senior local leaders including Panchayat Pradhan Chandan Shukla Baidya, former Shakti Kendra head Pranesh Shil and booth president Narayan Shukla Baidya, the error went unnoticed. The woman in question, reportedly related to a youth wing coordinator, posed for a selfie with the inverted flag and the image was later shared by an IT cell member.

The photo has sparked criticism on social media, with citizens questioning the sincerity of the party workers’ patriotism and their understanding of flag protocol. Observers noted that such a mistake, especially during a national campaign, reflects poorly on the awareness and accountability of those involved.
