Agartala, 28th August 2025:    Tripura police accompanied by TSR personnel raided a clandestine cannabis nursery deep within a forested stretch of government land near Dighalia under Lefunga police station. The nursery located several kilometers from the nearest settlement was accessed on foot after a nearly 2-kilometer trek through rugged terrain.

Led by Officer-in-Charge Sahadeb Das, the team uprooted and destroyed approximately 5,300 cannabis saplings cultivated illegally on khas land. The growers, reportedly alerted to the raid, managed to flee before authorities arrived.

OC Das stated that the crackdown is part of an ongoing month-long campaign against narcotics cultivation in the region. He affirmed that similar operations will continue in the coming days to curb illegal drug farming and safeguard public health.
