Agartala, 15th October 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss the state’s ongoing developments and seek support for several key initiatives.
Sharing his excitement on Facebook, Dr. Saha said he was delighted to meet Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji.
“Under his visionary leadership, and with the aim of realizing Viksit Tripura, Viksit Bharat, our government in Tripura has been implementing several transformative initiatives. I apprised him of the ongoing developments and sought his kind support on key matters,” Dr. Saha wrote.
During the meeting, Dr. Saha requested the Prime Minister’s backing for the inclusion of the Bru-Reang community under the NFSA Scheme and for an increased allocation of wheat under the PDS.
He also highlighted other major initiatives, including:
Double-laning of the railway track in Tripura
Introduction of a Vande Bharat train from Agartala to Guwahati
Enhancement of the ceiling limit for Externally Aided Projects (EAPs)
Addition of 15 more EMRS schools
Setting up an Agar Board and a research centre
Declaration of Unakoti as a Sustainable Development Heritage Site
Dr. Saha said these initiatives are aimed at accelerating Tripura’s growth while contributing to the broader vision of a Viksit Bharat.
