Agartala, 21st October 2025:  The “Amra Bangali” party commemorated Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at their party office premises here today.

Addressing the media personnel here, party secretary Gouranga Rudra Pal commemorated the founding of the Azad Hind Government by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on October 21, 1943, in Singapore. He emphasized that it was the first government to declare war against British colonial rule.

Pal highlighted Netaji’s strategic alliance with Japan and his efforts to mobilize Indian POWs and revolutionaries abroad to form the Azad Hind Fauj. He recalled Netaji’s symbolic hoisting of the national flag in the Andaman Islands, renaming it “Swaraj Dweep,” and noted that the Azad Hind Government had its own currency, judiciary, postal system, and penal code, with recognition from countries including Germany, Italy, Japan, and Thailand.

He further stated that the Azad Hind Fauj conferred the title “Netaji” on Bose and advanced into Manipur and Nagaland before setbacks—natural disasters, supply shortages, and lack of domestic support—halted the campaign. Pal criticized contemporary political factions, including Congress moderates, the Communist Party, Hindu Mahasabha, and Muslim League, for failing to support Netaji’s vision of a united and economically liberated India.

Pal also alleged that post-independence legislation by various political parties has undermined Bengali interests, despite Bengalis making the highest sacrifices during the freedom struggle.

The event concluded with a call from “Amra Bangali” leaders urging citizens to embrace Netaji’s ideals and work toward national unity and economic justice.
