Optometry job aspirants demands re-examination after alleged question paper leak

Agartala, 30th October 2025:   Alleging a question paper leak in the recently held Optometry recruitment examination, a group of job aspirants submitted a deputation to the Health Department today, demanding that the previously conducted test be cancelled and a fresh examination be held.

According to reports, the Health Department had recently issued a notification to recruit candidates for Optometry posts, following which a written examination was conducted. However, just a few days after the exam, several question papers — along with their answers — reportedly surfaced on social media platforms, raising suspicions among the candidates.

The aspirants claimed that many of the leaked questions matched exactly with the ones in the official examination, leading to concerns that the paper may have been leaked prior to the test.

In the absence of the Health Director, the candidates submitted their deputation to the Acting Director of Health Services, urging the department to cancel the previous exam and conduct a fair re-examination.

Speaking to the media, one of the candidates said that PDF files and links containing questions identical to 70–80% of those in the official paper went viral on various WhatsApp groups right after the exam. They pointed out that this was unusual, as candidates were not allowed to take question papers or OMR carbon copies out of the examination hall.

They further alleged that several questions contained incorrect options and incomplete answers, and expressed doubts about the quality and authenticity of the question paper, as many questions appeared to have been copied directly from online sources.

Some candidates also complained that a few examinees were given multiple OMR sheets, suggesting a lack of uniformity in examination procedures.

After submitting the deputation, the aspirants addressed the media, reiterating their demand for a transparent and fair recruitment process and emphasizing that a fresh examination is the only way to restore confidence among candidates.
