Agartala, 6th November 2025: The Meteorological Centre, Agartala has reported that overall rainfall in Tripura during October 2025 remained within the “normal” range. The state recorded a total of 151.4 mm of rainfall during the month, compared to the normal value of 159.2 mm, marking a departure of -5% from the long-period average.
According to the Centre, the highest station-wise rainfall was recorded at Bagafa in South Tripura district, which received 357.6 mm of rain during October. The highest 24-hour rainfall was also observed at Bagafa, amounting to 176.4 mm on October 14.
At the district level, South Tripura experienced the highest average rainfall at 276.2 mm, showing an excess of +61% over the normal, while Unakoti district recorded the lowest rainfall at 81.2 mm, a deficiency of -49%.
In terms of temperature, the maximum temperature at Agartala Airport reached 34.8°C on October 22 and 23, with an average mean maximum temperature of 33.1°C, which was 1.3°C above normal. The minimum temperature dropped to 23.0°C on October 13, while the average mean minimum temperature was 24.8°C, 1.8°C above normal.
The Meteorological Centre further clarified that rainfall within ±19% of the long-period average is considered normal, while deviations beyond that range are categorized as deficient, large deficient, or excess, depending on the extent of variation.
The report concludes that overall, the weather conditions across Tripura in October 2025 were typical for the post-monsoon season, with moderate rainfall and slightly warmer temperatures than average.
