Agartala, 12th November 2025:   A rickshaw driver and his family were allegedly assaulted in Agartala after refusing to pay commission for parking his vehicle in a different locality. The incident took place near the Radhamadhab Club area and led to a police complaint filed at West Agartala Police Station today.

Rahul Deb Roy, brother of the victim Rajib Deb Roy said that the dispute began when Rajib parked his rickshaw in Radhanagar instead of his home area at Bhati Abhaynagar Cantonment Road. Local individuals allegedly demanded weekly payments for allowing the parking, and upon Rajib’s refusal, they attacked him.

Rahul, along with their parents, rushed to the scene but were also reportedly assaulted. The prime accused has been identified as Sumit Das. Police are investigating the matter following the family’s formal complaint.
