Agartala, 20th November 2025: A tragic accident claimed the lives of two children and left another injured when a sand pile collapsed in the Manik Chandrapara area of Kalyanpur today.
Local sources informed that three children were playing on a mound of sand at an under-construction site near their homes. Suddenly, part of the sand pile gave way, burying all three beneath it.
Hearing their cries, residents rushed to the spot and managed to rescue the children. They were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced two of them dead. The injured child is currently undergoing treatment.
The incident has cast a pall of grief over the entire neighborhood, with residents mourning the untimely deaths.
