Agartala, 21st November 2025: Tripura’s rural transformation efforts drew national spotlight on Friday as Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, CEO of the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), presented the progress of Project TRIPTI at the CEO Conclave underway at Hotel Lalit, New Delhi, attended by representatives from 21 states.
Chakma reported that Project TRIPTI, launched with an investment of ₹15 crore, has already supported 4,000 households in Ambassa, Ganganagar and Dasda blocks through enterprise support, financial access, market linkages and skilling. The interventions have resulted in annual income enhancement of up to ₹20,000 per family.
He detailed three major livelihood expansion missions targeting ST, SC, PVTG and economically vulnerable households in remote regions—Project TRIPTI (₹15 crore), the Samaveshi Aajeevika Yojana (₹40 crore), approved and awaiting inauguration, and the CM Nabadisha Abhiyan (₹50 crore), inaugurated recently by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha. With these schemes, ₹105 crore is poised to further accelerate rural enterprise development and poverty reduction across the state.
Alongside these initiatives, Tripura is gearing up for the Saras Mela scheduled for mid-December, where thousands of SHG women will exhibit local crafts, food products and innovations. A state-level review chaired by Chakma is currently finalizing arrangements in coordination with the Chief Minister’s Office.
TRLM has also rolled out Samriddhi 2.0, a statewide credit acceleration campaign targeting ₹181 crore in loan sanctions within 40 days, covering 6,000 SHG group loans and 1,500 individual enterprise loans. The first phase of Samriddhi mobilized ₹198 crore in credit support.
Officials assert that Tripura is emerging as a national model in rural development through integrated strategies in credit access, livelihood promotion, digital empowerment and community enterprise building.
