Agartala, 1st December 2025: A grand Gita Yagna was organized today at the ISKCON-managed Jagannath Jew Temple in Baikhora, marking the auspicious occasion when Lord Krishna imparted the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.
The event was initiated by temple priest Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das, who emphasized the spiritual significance of the day. “Offering the Gita on this sacred date brings complete fulfillment,” he told the gathering. Devotees recited various chapters of the Gita as part of the yagna, creating a deeply devotional atmosphere inside the temple.
Participants from across the subdivision and different parts of the state joined the ceremony, reflecting the widespread devotion to the teachings of the Gita. This year, the yagna was organized on a larger scale under the guidance of Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das, who regularly conducts religious programs at the temple.
Speaking to the media, he highlighted the importance of reading the Gita rather than merely keeping it at home. “The Gita must be read. Reading it increases wisdom and prevents unrest in family life,” he said.
The yagna witnessed a massive turnout of devotees, highlighting the enduring relevance of the Gita’s message in contemporary society.
