Agartala, 7th December 2025: Leader of Opposition and CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury today said that the self-centeredness has dangerously increased in the present society and ways must be hunted for overcoming it.
A blood donation camp was organized at Joynagar Mela Ground on Sunday to mark the Seventh Regional Conference of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI). The event was attended by Leader of the Opposition Chaudhury, DYFI State Secretary Nabarun Deb and several other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Chaudhury urged young people to rise above self-centered attitudes and dedicate themselves to the welfare of society. He emphasized that individualism has sharply increased in the current social system, posing a serious challenge to collective progress. “We must find ways to overcome this growing self-centric mindset. DYFI’s initiative through the blood donation camp reflects commendable social values that deserve appreciation,” he said.
Chaudhury stressed that life should not be lived solely for oneself but should be devoted to the service of others. He highlighted that collective development must remain the ultimate goal of the youth. Calling upon DYFI members, he encouraged them to continue engaging in more social activities in the days ahead, fostering a spirit of solidarity and responsibility.
The Leader of the Opposition also extended his best wishes to all the donors who came forward during the camp. He expressed gratitude for their contribution and wished them good health, noting that such acts of generosity strengthen the fabric of society.
The camp not only promoted the importance of voluntary blood donation but also highlighted the role of youth in building a socially conscious and inclusive community.
