Agartala, 11th December 2025: A one-year-old child who went missing near Shishu Bihar School in Agartala yesterday was swiftly rescued following a coordinated police operation by West Agartala Police Station. The incident brought relief to the child’s family and residents of the area.
Initial confusion arose over the child’s age, with police first reporting the missing infant as one month old. Subsequent investigation clarified that the child was one year old.
Speaking to the media personnel here, West Agartala Police Station OC Rana Chatterjee said the child suddenly disappeared from outside Shishu Bihar School. Upon receiving the report, officials from multiple police stations across Agartala launched a joint search operation. With public cooperation, the child’s photograph was circulated across different parts of the city.
Police eventually located the child and returned him safely to his mother. OC Chatterjee noted that the rapid launch of the operation was crucial in ensuring the child’s quick recovery.
Authorities are still investigating how the child went missing. Police have not yet confirmed whether theft or abduction was involved. “All angles are being examined, but it is too early to comment on details,” Chatterjee said.
While the incident has raised fresh concerns about urban security, the police’s prompt action has reassured the family and community, who expressed relief at the child’s safe return.
