Agartala, 15th December 2025:   Sixty youths who cleared the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) One and Two conducted by the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) in 2024 are yet to receive recognition from the Tripura Recruitment Portal (TRP), leaving them in uncertainty over their future.

Today, the qualified but unemployed candidates visited the TRBT office seeking an audience with the Chairman. However, they were unable to meet him and later spoke with the Controller. The candidates stated that their verification process had been completed in July, during which they submitted all required documents. At that time, officials did not indicate any issues with their eligibility.

Shock and frustration followed last Saturday when the merit list was published without their names. Questioning the omission, the candidates returned to TRBT on Monday. During their meeting, the Controller reportedly told them that 18 month courses are not recognized. The candidates, however, argued that their program is a two year course, not 18 months, and nowhere has it been officially described otherwise.

The group has now appealed to the Chief Minister to intervene in the matter. Many of them are currently employed in private schools but had prepared extensively with the hope of securing government teaching jobs. They expressed disappointment that despite their hard work and successful qualification, bureaucratic hurdles are preventing them from receiving due recognition.
