Agartala, 9th January 2026: Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag on Friday said that the state government has placed strong emphasis on improving police infrastructure and healthcare facilities, with plans to provide modern vehicles and upgraded medical equipment in the near future.
After inspecting several police establishments, the DGP stated that enhancing the mobility of the police force has been identified as a major priority for the current year. He informed that the government has sanctioned adequate funds to ensure that every police station is equipped with modern vehicles.
“Each police station will be provided with at least one new vehicle in the coming months. Some vehicles have already been delivered, while procurement orders for others are underway. The process is expected to be completed between March and May,” Anurag said.
During his visit, the DGP reviewed police lines and examined the facilities and amenities available to police personnel. He also inspected the hospital attached to the police establishment to evaluate its infrastructure and assess areas needing improvement.
“I have reviewed the hospital facilities and identified the requirements for upgradation. Necessary steps will be taken to strengthen the infrastructure so that patients can receive improved and effective medical care,” he stated.
Anurag further highlighted that the hospital caters not only to police personnel but also to civilians, making the upgrade of medical services essential.
“Members of the general public also seek treatment here, so improving healthcare facilities will benefit everyone,” he added.
