CPIM holds protest rally and market meeting at Sonamura

Agartala, 10th January 2026:   The Durlabh Narayan CPI(M) Area Committee organized a protest rally and market meeting in the commercial hub of Sonamura subdivision, voicing strong opposition to fundamentalist violence and imperialist aggression.

During the rally, participants raised slogans condemning brutal attacks on minority communities across Bangladesh and other parts of the world. They demanded a fair and impartial investigation into the death of Angel Chakma, denounced American imperialist aggression, and expressed solidarity with the people of Venezuela. The demonstrators pledged to continue united struggles against injustice, declaring that resistance against imperialism and fundamentalism would persist in Tripura in the days ahead.

Following the rally, a public meeting was held in the Durlabh Narayan commercial area. Key speakers included Mohammad Selim, Area Committee Secretary; Adhir Bhowmik, member of the CPI(M) Sonamura Subdivision Committee; and former MLA of Nalchar constituency, Tapan Das. The meeting was presided over by Bani Singh Debbarma and Atikul Islam.

The CPI(M) leaders emphasized that the party remains committed to mobilizing people across Tripura to resist oppression and safeguard democratic values.
