Agartala, 10th January 2026: One day Entrepreneurship Awareness Campaign (EAC) was held at No. 2 Pathaliaghat High School, Warangbari ADC village under Sepahijala district.
The initiative aims to impart the basic skill on various trade/ areas as per demand of present market and also encourage setting up at least micro/ small enterprises under MEPP scheme.
The said EAC was organized and successfully completed by the NB Institute for Rural Technology (NBIRT) with the support of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) under Micro Enterprises Promotion Programme (MEPP) yesterday.
This inaugural program of the EAC was attended by Sukumar Debbarma, Social Worker, Warangbari ADC village, Anup Dey, Project Officer, NBIRT, Gopa Gupta Sarkar, successful Entrepreneur (Fashion Designing), Monoranjan Debbarma, successful Entrepreneur (Electrical), Nandan Chakraborty & Arun Acharjee , Senior Executive of MEPP project and Payel Debnath, Coordinator, NBIRT.
During the program, Anup Dey, Project Officer, NBIRT shared the perspective and various scope of MEPP. Dey also shared the role of NBIRT. Nandan Chakraborty, Senior Executive of MEPP under NBIRT delivered the address & welcomed the dignitaries and participants.
In this event, Sukumar Debbarma, while delivering a speech, emphasized the importance of hands on training and self-reliance for unemployed tribal youths of Warangbari village.
Gopa Gupta Sarkar, while speaking before the participants, presented a scenario of her 15 years of work experience in the line of ‘Tailoring’. In addition to her professional pursuits, she shared insightful advice & recommendations on the business.
A total number of 56 men & women participants belong from ST community from different areas of Pathaliaghat took part in this EAC.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Payel Debnath, Coordinator of NBIRT, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries and participants.
A tremendous enthusiasm was observed among the youth on the occasion of the awareness camp. As a result of such type of awareness camp, short duration EDP on Tailoring for women participants and EDP on Electrical Wiring for men participants will be started at Warangbari ASAP.
