Agartala, 31st January 2026: Debashis Lodh, who served as the Chief Minister’s Information Officer under the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, retired from his post today. Holding the position of Deputy Director, Lodh successfully managed key responsibilities for the past eight years, earning wide recognition in Tripura’s journalistic circles.
Though he began his career as a teacher, Lodh later joined the Information and Cultural Affairs Department as an officer. Over the years, he served in Gandachhara, Udaipur, and briefly with the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation, before taking charge as the Chief Minister’s Information Officer.
A farewell ceremony was organized at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where colleagues across all levels and members of the Press Cell extended their best wishes. The event was attended by P.K. Chakraborty, Secretary of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department; Parmananda Sarkar Banerjee, OSD to the Chief Minister; Bimbisar Bhattacharya, Director of the Department; Additional Secretary Samit Ray Choudhury; Joint Secretary Asim Saha; Deputy Secretaries Sudipta Biswas, Habibur Rahman, and Pronoy Debnath, among others.
Before joining government service, Lodh had been associated with leading newspapers, All India Radio Agartala, and Doordarshan Kendra since 1987. He also maintained a close connection with Tripura’s literary and cultural circles throughout his career.
