Agartala, 20th February 2026:  Traffic ground to a halt early Friday morning as local residents staged a road blockade at the Narikel Kunj T-Junction on the Gandachhara–Raishyabari road.

The blockade reportedly began around 3:00 a.m., with residents demanding the establishment of a cold storage facility in the area, along with the resolution of several long-standing local issues. According to the protesters, repeated appeals to authorities have so far failed to yield any concrete response.

The demonstration continued for several hours, leaving numerous vehicles—both small and large, stranded on either side of the road. The disruption caused significant inconvenience for daily commuters and tourists traveling from distant locations.

Protesters warned that, unless their demands are addressed promptly, they may escalate the movement into a larger-scale agitation.Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
