Agartala, 14th March 2026:    Panic gripped the Satsang Ashram area of Krishnanagar after a gas pipeline ruptured during ongoing Smart City project work.

According to local sources, gas began leaking immediately after the pipeline burst, spreading a strong odor across the neighborhood. Alarmed residents rushed out of their homes for safety.

Officials from the concerned department arrived swiftly at the site, shutting off the gas supply temporarily and initiating repair work to bring the situation under control. Traffic movement in the area was also restricted for a period to prevent any major mishap.

Residents alleged that inadequate safety measures during Smart City construction work have led to such incidents. However, authorities stated that prompt action helped avert a serious accident.
