Agartala, 24th March 2026:    Bamutia MLA Nayan Sarkar visited the Bagbari area of Lembuchara Gram Panchayat today to address chronic electrical infrastructure issues, pledging full financial support from his Local Area Development fund to rectify sagging power lines and leaning poles that have long endangered local residents. Accompanied by senior officials from the Mohanpur Electricity Division, the MLA conducted a field inspection following repeated safety complaints from the community regarding the high risk of electrocution in the neighborhood.

Residents of Bagbari had reached out to the MLA to report a deteriorating network of electrical cables. According to locals, many wires are sagging so low they are nearly touching the ground, while several utility poles have become severely tilted or unstable. These conditions have created a “death trap” for pedestrians and residents moving through the village lanes.

During the inspection, MLA Sarkar was joined by the Senior Manager and the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of the Mohanpur Electricity Department. After assessing the site, the MLA confirmed the severity of the situation and instructed the department to prioritize the repair work to prevent potential accidents.

“The safety of the people is paramount,” the MLA stated. He reassured the public that regardless of the total cost of the project, the required amount would be disbursed from the MLA Local Area Development Scheme (MLADS). He further urged the power department to expedite the technical formalities so that the renovation of the power lines can begin without further delay.

Local residents expressed relief following the visit, noting that the hazardous conditions had persisted for a long time without resolution until the recent intervention.
